Organize. Mobilize. Empathize.
My name is Orlando Cabalo, and I am a second-year History major at UC Riverside. I am currently running to be a CHASS Senator in the Associated Students of UC Riverside (ASUCR). The reason why I am running is to help bolster Basic Needs initiatives in ASUCR and to continue reforming the student government. This year alone, I have authored, sponsored, and passed at least twenty pieces of legislation. Working to do what I promised as CHASS Senator, I've authored and am working to pass legislation guaranteeing ASUCR invest $40k for student basic needs yearly. I've also gotten 4 amendments on the ballot in order to bring student-led direct democracy and reform the association. Some other work includes being a member of the Student-Parent Ad Hoc Committee and advocating for more affordable campus housing. I've strived to do what's right in ASUCR. From advocating for Basic Needs to reforming ASUCR, I'm here to do the work. In short, I'm here to keep promises. And if elected, I hope to continue to fight for students. |
